The Covid-19 does not strike everywhere in the Kingdom with the same intensity. Some regions even seem to escape the scourge, thus remaining almost free from the virus, such as Guelmim-Oued Noun, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab which sometimes have 0 cases on a daily basis. Explanations.

From 1is As of December 7, 2021, Morocco has recorded 884 cases, with a daily incidence rate (number of new cases reported to the general population) which varies between 0.2 and 0.5 per 100,000 inhabitants.

All the epidemic data are therefore encouraging, especially since the reproduction rate of the virus is slightly above 1, and several regions continue to record no cases per day, such as Guelmim-Oued Noun, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, Drâa-Tafilalet and Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab.

The circulation of the Covid thus remains under control in Morocco, during the week from 1is on December 7, in particular in the regions of Guelmim-Oued Noun (1 case), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (1 case), Drâa-Tafilalet (7 cases), Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab (12 cases), Oriental (12 cases), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (15 cases), Souss-Massa (16 cases), Fès-Meknes (24 cases), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (35 cases) and Marrakech-Safi (49 cases).

Only the regions of Casablanca-Settat (433 cases, or an average of 62 cases per day) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (279 cases, or an average of 40 cases per day) which continue to record the most infections in Morocco.

Contacted by Le360, a member of the National Scientific and Technical Committee of Covid-19 confirms that all epidemic indicators are currently stable in Morocco, which confirms the low transmission of the virus in the country.

Regarding regional disparities in contaminations, this doctor explained that this situation is due to the capacity of detection of each region and of the circulation of the virus which is not done at an equal level, while recalling that “since the start of the epidemic episode, the number of active cases (patients currently under medical supervision or awaiting the declaration of their remission after improvement of their state of health) and the incidence rate also vary according to the regions ” .

Here is, moreover, the distribution by region of the cases identified, from 1is to December 7.
