Covid-19 in Colombia deaths and cases today December 29, 2021 – Colombia

The increase in infections by covid-19 in Colombia continues its upward pace, especially since the last week.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health of this Wednesday, December 29, in Colombia 6,326 new cases of covid-19 in the last hours. This, after 69,825 tests were processed (27,289 of PCR and 42,536 of antigens).

To date, 29,479,920 tests have been processed in the country. Thus, Colombia reaches 5,138,603 confirmed coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020.

Although the number of new infections and active cases remain on the rise, the death report remains stable. In bulletin of the Minsalud accounts for 33 more deaths from the virus. With this update, the figure total deaths in Colombia it amounts to 129,866.

In the last 24 hours, in addition, 2,147 recovered patients. Thus, there are already 4,965,217 patients who to date have overcome covid-19 in the country.

In total, there are 24,997 cases that remain active in Colombia.

Bogotá concentrates 1,477,623 (28.7%), with 1,541 new infections in the last 24 hours, the highest figure since last August 6. The areas with the most recent cases of covid in Colombia were Antioquia (1.886), Cauca’s Valley (1,587) and Bogota (1,541), respectively.

The list of deaths was led by Bogotá (8), Antioquia (7) and Valle del Cauca (4).

Regarding the advance of National Vaccination Plan, the health authority reported that, with a cut-off at 11:59 pm on December 27, in the country 63,992,507 doses of the vaccine against covid-19. Of that figure, 32,918,022 correspond to the first dose; 22,716,473 to second dose; 3,081,896, booster doses, and 5,276,116 are from the single-dose vaccine.

In Colombia, 27,992,589 people already have the complete vaccination scheme.
