Coronavirus: Sardinia, Calabria and 43 provinces in all have zero new cases

Zero new infections in Sardinia, no new patients also in Calabria, Basilicata and Umbria. There are at least two good reasons to be optimistic about coronavirus in Italy today: on the one hand, the unfolding of phase 2 with the reopening of shops and many other activities; on the other a bulletin that reports the best epidemiological data since the start of the lockdown in March. On balance, today there are 43 provinces across the country that do not record increases in Covid-19 cases: a trend that will need to be confirmed in the days to come but which could mark a slowdown in the epidemic already felt by some experts .

The best panorama regards Southern Italy but even at the opposite end of the peninsula, patches of blue begin to spread, even in the regions most tormented by the epidemic in recent months. In addition to the aforementioned four regions which today report zero cases in their entirety, seven provinces of Sicily are in the same situation (Agrigento. Caltanissetta, Catania, Enna, Messina, Ragusa and Trapani, the latter without new patients for 19 consecutive days) ; identical bulletin for half Puglia (Barletta, Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto) and a good part of Tuscany (Massa, Pistoia, Prato, Siena and Grosseto). Epidemic also in L’Aquila, Isernia, Ascoli, Fermo.

As anticipated, however, also in the North here and there the advance of the coronavirus marks the pace: the zero recorded today in the provinces of Cremona and Mantua in Lombardy or Ferrara and Ravenna in Emilia Romagna is significant. In Veneto (where the total number of new patients of just 9) Belluno has no new cases, further east Udine and Pordenone imitate it. In Piedmont, finally remain in the same situation yesterday as Verbania and Biella.
