Spring awakens the sporting verve of Italians

Here comes primavera and the Italians rediscover the pleasure of being outdoors to stretch your legs, practice one sport or take care of the garden. This is confirmed by the “price comparator” an ideal which analyzed purchasing intentions on its Italian portal from 1 to 11 March 2024 by comparing them with those from 19 and 29 February 2024.

Online searches for basketball and climbing shoes which record, respectively, growth rates of 90 and 57%, but also those of sports suits (+52%), fitness clothing (+29%), outdoor shoes (+28%) and running clothing (+26%). To tow the comparto sportswear it would appear to be the cycling: searches for cycling trousers grew by 39% while electric bicycles recorded +20%, helmets +19% and jackets +17%.

In the context of gardening, significant increases for lawnmowers (+69%) and tool boxes (+54%) while in terms of ‘outdoor design’ the most sought after products are garden furniture (+142%), garden swings (+129 %), outdoor sunbeds and umbrellas (+122% and +101% respectively). Followed by: awnings (+88%), gazebos (+82%), garden tables (+77%) and, equally, children’s pools (+74%) and slide and swing sets (+74% ).

By analyzing the average prices recorded between April and June 2023 and comparing them with the average prices obtained during the year, an ideal finally estimated potential savings in the order of 52% for the garden fenceby 18% for a gazeboof 12% for i coveringsby 11% for garden chairs and up to 7% for pool.
