However, the organizers are already working on a new concept. Photo: Silvia Gralla The Würzburg Mozart Festival 2020 will also not be possible due to the Corona crisis. At least not in the planned form and in the planned scope with 75 concerts. But after the social isolation of the past few weeks, the Mozart Festival wants to bring its music in a new form very close to the Würzburgers, according to a press release that the festival has now published. From June 19 to 21, the music truck “The Blue Eumel” will stop in inner courtyards of the Würzburg city area and bring short concerts of chamber music, jazz and theater to the residents. The “Blue Eumel”, like here at a concert at the forest experience center Gramschatz, quickly turns into a small stage for musicians. All house communities in the Würzburg city area are invited to convert their own courtyard into a concert stage, according to the press spokesman for the festival. Interested parties are requested to do so using the application form below www.mozartfest.de to be filled in and sent to [email protected] with subject “Eumel” by May 25th. The focus is on a lively art experience The backyard concerts are realized together with the “Blauen Eumel – Mobile Kunst e.V”. The Blue Eumel is a winged vintage truck that quickly transforms into a small stage for ensembles made up of professional musicians and actors who have a varied program of classical chamber music, jazz and theater in their repertoire. The wish and goal is to bring art where it belongs: to people. The focus is on the lively art experience, up close and direct, which for a while makes you forget the corona frustration and the challenges of this time. The Mozart Festival in Würzburg would have celebrated its 99th season this year from May 29 to June 28. Due to the corona pandemic, all 75 events cannot take place as originally planned. According to the press release, the festival organizers are now taking the motto “Resistance. Growing. Moving on” as an incentive for dealing creatively with the restrictions caused by the corona pandemic. A condensed version of the traditional festival with concert formats that take account of the new situation and the necessary measures to protect against infection is currently in the works and will be published shortly. The inner courtyard concerts with the “Blue Eumel” are then part of the new festival program.
