The result shown is clear: According to the investigation, the fours remain detectable in the air for several minutes. The virus cloud can even reach customers in the next aisle across the rows of shelves.
In this context, the researchers advise avoiding public spaces as much as possible.
“Someone who’s with that Corona virus infected, can cough and go away, but leave extremely small aerosol particles that carry the coronavirus. These particles can then get into the airways of others nearby, ”explains Professor Ville Vuorinenfrom Aalto University.
“When they have to go to a shop, they go there as rarely as possible. Stay there as short as possible, ”said Vuorinen.
Scientists at the Bauhaus University in Weimar had previously shown the air movements after coughing and sneezing at hand, in the crook of the arm, with a mask and finally without any barriers.
