USA would be in a position to deliver the new military aid to Ukraine “in a matter of days” once the American president, Joe Bidenenact the assistance approved by Congress, the Pentagon indicated this Tuesday.
“Generally speaking we hope to be able to deliver aid within days, although I have nothing to announce about what that aid consists of.”said Defense Department spokesman Brig. Pat Ryder.
The Senate is preparing to approve this Tuesday a military aid package worth some $95 billion -61,000 of which will go to Ukraine- after months of blockade in the House of Representatives.
“Depending on what that aid is, as you have seen in the past, we provide a variety of assistance and we are doing everything we can to provide additional aid to Ukraine as soon as possible.”Ryder added.
“This security aid package, which is based on Ukraine’s most urgent needs, will include air defense capabilities, artillery ammunition”said the spokesperson.
The new U.S. military assistance program being considered by the Senate includes tanks and armored vehicles, as well as defense against air strikes and large quantities of artillery ammunition.
Biden spoke by phone on Monday with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskywho after the call and in a message on the social network
