Controversy over the “neutral” accent in the institutional video of the Junta for Andalusia Day

“A voiceover in perfect Spanish reciting the hymn of Andalusia?”. “What a video shame, but who speaks like that in Andalusia?“.” Whoever denies their accent, denies their land, their blood, their values, their history and their dignity. “

These are just some of the reactions that the institutional video of the Board has provoked on social networks on the occasion of the celebration next February 28 of Andalusia Day. A video in which a voice in off he recites the lyrics of the community hymn while different images are projected.

The main controversy has arisen as a result of the narration that is heard during the 20 seconds that the video lasts, starring a man with no trace of an Andalusian accent.

The criticisms go beyond the narration itself, since some users, and also members of opposition political parties, regret that in the video a flag of Spain appears and none of Andalusia, taking into account that what the recording commemorates is Community Day.

Likewise, there have been many who have revealed that the video is made, they say, with images of a bank, so “no Andalusian landscape or anyone from here comes out.”

From the opposition, they have harshly criticized the initiative and have asked the Board to rectify and edit the video.
