And I think he will die because he hates life,” said Dušek, and after Strakatý’s obvious surprise at these words, he added: “That person doesn’t like life, he doesn’t like himself.”
The statement, which according to the majority of the audience’s comments was already far off the mark, was tried to be contradicted by the moderator himself, since cancer took away his mother. “I can’t help but remember my mother’s death. She died of cancer and she wanted to live,” Duška Strakatý disagreed with the strong statements.

However, the actor still stood by his opinion. “Just because someone says they want to live doesn’t mean they want to,” he said, thinking that it is possible to predict which of the cancer patients will die and which will recover, and whether the given patient really wants to survive this harsh diagnosis. according to Dušek, you can tell from the way he lives.
In addition to the many reactions on social networks, including those from the viewers themselves, Dušk’s statement about cancer reached the political sphere and the actor’s statements were also condemned by the Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek (TOP 09), who described Dušek’s claims as “nonsense”. “I confess that my blood boils when I hear similar blasphemous and especially insensitive nonsense towards cancer patients and their loved ones! Oncology patients and their loved ones deserve the maximum level of support, not such insensitive attacks and accusations,” he rejected the statements.
Dušek’s interview with Čestmír Strakatý also attracted the attention of the head of the strongest opposition movement ANO and ex-prime minister Andrej Babiš, who on the CNN Prima News broadcast pondered whether Dušek was “sick”. “It’s scary. I don’t know if the gentleman is sick,” Babiš objected, saying that she was “completely horrified” by Duško’s statements.
And a famous artist his acting colleague Eva Holubová did not spare either, who supposedly considers him a friend, but does not agree with his statements at all. “I completely disagree with him. Neither with the content nor with the arrogant form in which it is presented. You can feel an arrogant ego, an effort to make yourself visible,” she defined.

“There are a number of people, Jarda Dušek and I are among them, who are undesirable in the media and whose invitation even the moderator will pick up on. The turning point was covid. I was deleted, blocked, called a misinformer. About two years ago, Jarda Dušek caught it as an interview with healer Milan Calábek, who, although a layman, spoke culturedly and sensibly about covid, the Ministry of Health’s hysterical reaction followed, the Ministry of the Interior dealt with it, the video was marked as a hybrid threat and the servers had to delete it. It is remarkable how the hysterical reaction of the minister and the enormous attention of the media are caused by the statements of an enthusiastic actor or a lay healer, and the essential lies of the previous and current Minister of Health regarding covid, testing, vaccination, etc., escape attention,” summarized Hnízdil, adding that “freedom of speech is an illusion” .

“The mainstream is the only ‘correct’ opinion allowed and disseminated by the media: on covid, on the causes of cancer, on the war in Ukraine, on life, on the world… We have one allowed faith – ideology, it used to be called fascism, then communism, now covidism, Ukrainianism … Whoever does not go with us, goes against us and together we will make it! The common denominator is intolerance of different opinions, incitement of hatred, fanaticism,” pointed out the doctor, who is one of the pioneers of Czech complex and psychosomatic medicine.

“Freedom of Speech Only for Some”
And what about freedom of speech for doctors? According to Hnízdil, this exists, but only if doctors “present the ‘correct’ opinion”. “Which opinion is correct is decided by the government, the chamber, pharmaceutical companies, the media, and global corporations according to the current need,” the doctor summarized for ParlamentníListy.cz.
He also recalled one of the statements about his person, which according to him should be “carved in stone”: “In May 2021, the review committee of the Czech Medical Chamber of Prague 2 resolved a proposal for my expulsion, because my views on covid, according to the complainant, were not in accordance with the opinions of the chamber management. Statement of the revision committee, led by prof. MD Zakharov, PhD, must have taken the chamber’s president’s breath away. I quote: ‘MDr. In his speeches and texts, Jan Hnízdil expresses his opinion, which he has every right to in a legal state, even if this is not in accordance with the current opinion of the majority of the professional public, the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic (or the review commission!). According to the CLK Code of Ethics, a doctor cannot be forced to perform a medical procedure or participate in it, which contradicts his conscience. MD Hnízdil presents his opinions and his opinion – it is necessary to take into account the fact that it is currently not 100% certain and proven that everything he states is wrong, or false, only the future will tell. MD Jan Hnízdil did not commit any violation of the rules of the CLK and there is no reason to initiate disciplinary proceedings against him.'”
It is said that these words also apply to the actor Jaroslav Dušek today. Hnízdil points out that he has “the full right to express his opinions, even if they are wrong, or, in the words of Minister Válk, they are ‘nonsense'”. “Furthermore, it is currently not proven that everything that Jarda states is wrong, or false, only the future will tell.
