Authority Iran captured the granddaughter of the chief minister Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The arrest of Khamenei’s nephew came after he criticized the regime Tehran which his uncle led as a “regime of murderers and child killers” in a video.
As reported AFP extension, Monday (11/28/2022), Farideh Moradkhani comes from a branch of the family that has a history of opposing Iran’s clerical leadership. Previously he had been in an Iranian prison.
The news of Farideh’s arrest was revealed by his brother, Mahmoud Moradkhani, via Twitter. Mahmoud said Farideh was arrested on Wednesday (23/11) last week after visiting the local prosecutor’s office to fulfill a summons.
On Saturday (11/26), local time, Mahmoud posted a video on video sharing site YouTube, with the link shared via Twitter. The video shows Farideh denouncing the “clear and obvious oppression” Iranians are experiencing, and criticizing the lack of a strong response from the international community.
“Free people, join us! Tell your government to stop supporting this murderous and child-killing regime,” Farideh said in the video.
“This regime does not adhere to religious principles and recognizes no laws or rules except violence and maintains power by any means possible,” he said.
It is unclear when the video was recorded.
