Complaints for bites in the evening are multiplying everywhere in France

The uneasiness multiplies and the mystery remains. New complaints have been filed by dozens of people who believe they were bitten without their knowledge in the evening. The reports extend across the whole of France.

A young girl paralyzed for several days in Béziers

In Hérault, nine complaints were filed for events that occurred on the night of April 17 to 18, 2022. A woman had filed a first complaint about similar events that allegedly took place on the night of April 6 to 7 in a another night establishment.

The victims say they were taken by hot flashes, nausea, malaise or even loss of balance. “I felt like a sting but I thought of a girl who had brushed against me a little too closely with a sequined dress because it stings (…). In a few minutes I had the my head was spinning, then a feeling of discomfort and finally my legs gave out,” says Arthur, soon to be 17, at Free lunch.

An anonymous girl told theAFP to have been “paralyzed on the right side for two days”, after being hit in the thigh and up to the sciatic nerve.

Thursday, April 21, Raphaël Balland, prosecutor of Béziers, launched an appeal for potential victims to be tested as quickly as possible in order to detect traces of toxic products in their blood. An investigation was opened for “administration of harmful substances”, it was entrusted to the Béziers police station and the Montpellier judicial police.

According to a source close to the file, quoted by the specialized site Actu 17about thirty handrails were registered at the city police station.

Cases on the sidelines of a music festival

In the Dordogne, two young men said they had also been bitten when they went out in a nightclub, Saturday April 9, 2022. Aged 18 and 24, they did not feel a bite during the evening, but say s to be felt “very tired” during the same night and the following days, said the public prosecutor of Périgueux Solène Belaouar, to France Blue.

The two young people found traces of bites in the thigh and abdomen and decided to file a complaint three days after the fact.

On Saturday April 23, 2022, the Bourges public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation after reports of injections on the sidelines of the Printemps de Bourge music festival, revealed Berry Républicain. Four festival-goers have filed a complaint, they explain that they were stung during rap concerts at the Halle au Blé on Wednesday and Thursday.

Their blood tests are still in progress. The direction of the festival, relayed by France info, specified that it had reinforced its security and raised awareness among the public to be more vigilant.

Multiplication of complaints since February

Since February 16, 2022, when nightclubs reopened, several dozen people have testified to similar facts. In Nantes, 23 people saw traces of bites after spending evenings in the city. Among them, 20 women and 3 men. 17 of them filed a complaint.

More specifically, on the night of Thursday February 24 to Friday February 25, seven young women had even been taken care of by the teams of the night establishment Warehouse, saying that they suffered from headaches, dizziness, nausea, and discomfort.

Also in Amiens, a 23-year-old young woman was taken care of by the Somme firefighters on the night of Saturday April 2 to Sunday April 3. She did not file a complaint.

The victim told the emergency services that he had been hit in the arm on the dance floor of the Le Moon establishment, specifies France Blue Picardy, and found herself in very bad shape. The Amiens police have opened an investigation and toxicological analyzes are in progress.

On Saturday April 9, two complaints were filed at the Saint-Malo police station for similar facts, note West France. The analysis of the victims’ blood turned up nothing.

A GHB-positive case

Among all the cases reported since the beginning of the year, for the time being, only a toxicological analysis has proved positive. Matteo, a 20-year-old young man attacked in Grenoble on Friday April 15, was drugged with GHB, also called date rape drug.

He explains to France Blue have found a bruise behind his knee, with a red dot in the middle. Matteo then went to the hospital and traces of GHB were found in his body following his trip to Barbarossa, an establishment located in the city center of Grenoble.

In total, the Grenoble and Saint-Ismier police stations received complaints from five women and two men, aged 17 to 22, who believe they were bitten between April 15 and 17, 2022.

No sexual or physical assault, and no theft has been reported on the sidelines of these potential injections on French soil. In the United Kingdom, however, where the cases have been dangerously linked since November 2021, many women have testified to their fear of being attacked after being drugged against their will. They organized themselves behind the movement Balance Ton Barto challenge the local public authorities to protect them.
