Titans – Chiefs (27-3): Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City humiliated

Alarm bells for the Chiefs, nothing is going well.

Tennessee Titans (5-2) – Kansas City Chiefs (3-4) : 27-3

There was no match this Sunday in a match between two of the favorites for the pre-season AFC. If Tennessee has been getting closer and closer to this status over the past two weeks, for the Chiefs it is getting more complicated.

Again in difficulty in attack and non-existent in defense, Kansas City is going through the season with the same ills game after game. This time in addition, Patrick Mahomes (20/35, 206 yards, 1INT, 2 fumble) seems physically diminished. The time for questioning is fast approaching in Kansas City.

A titanic challenge

From the first half the match is played between the Chiefs and the Titans. Kansas City flows in all areas of play: in attack the visitors have gained only 67 yards and 4 first down, in defense the team has already taken 277 yards and allowed a 6/7 in 3rd attempts to the Titans … No surprise , Kansas City and therefore led to the break and largely on the score of 27-0! Since the beginning of the Mahomes era, the Chiefs had never been so badly handled.

The premises hit entry by quietly going up 75 yards in a few minutes before seeing Derrick Henry (29 races, 86 yards) conclude in an original way to the pass!

After a punt from the Chiefs, the defense of these is so in difficulty that it leaves the Titans back 97 yards and add a touchdown (14-0) on a reception of 24 yards from AJ Brown (8rec, 133 yards, 1TD).

The premises then go on with a field goal and then a touchdown (24-0) from Ryan Tanehill (21/27, 270 yards, 1TD, 1INT) on a race in the red zone. A touchdown that came after an interception launched by Patrick Mahomes, his 9th of the season, leader of the league in this area!

The Chiefs quarterback perfectly embodies KC’s slow litany with another midfield loss under pressure from Kevin Byard. A new turnover that allows the Titans to add a field goal (27-0) just before entering the locker room.

All that for this…

The second half does not change the face of the match. If Kansas City saves the honor of zero point with a field goal (27-3) registered on his first drive, the rest will be more complicated with a failed field goal and a 4th failure which even sees Mahomes injured. Chad Henne finishes the match. A lot of energy spent for not much so…

On the other hand, on the Titans side, if the attack took a well-deserved nap in the second half, the defense can have a smile on her face, who has just made a second interesting defensive performance against one of the big attacks of the AFC.

Defense progressing, attack with talent, what if the Titans were finally launched?
