Woman TransJakarta (TransJ) bus passengers with the initials H experienced abuse by male passengers. The perpetrator of the harassment was later identified as Mufarok (56) who also stole the TransJ access card for members of the Indonesian National Police.
The chronology of the harassment was uploaded by the victim in a thread on his social media account. H already allowed detikcom to quote the thread.
Victim says action abuse Mufarok occurred on Monday (20/2/2023) night. At that time, H was on the TransJ bus for the Monas-Pulogadung route.
“The condition of the TransJakarta route from Monas to Pulogadung is always busy after working hours,” said H, Tuesday (21/2).
Harassment on the TransJ Bus
H took the TransJ bus from Monas to Pulogadung because his house is in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta (Jakut). While on the way, H confessed feel something strange and unnaturalness that came from behind him.
Inside the bus, the perpetrator was right behind him. H then asked for help from the women who were beside him to determine the strange feeling about what the male passenger behind him was doing.
“After a few minutes of attention, the mother immediately pulled me to be where many women were standing,” he said.
H immediately thought of following up on this unpleasant experience. He then waited for the moment the man who allegedly abused him got off the TransJ bus.
Perpetrator Trying to Escape
H took a photo of the face of the man who allegedly committed the harassment. H also pulled the man, who was about to get off the TransJ bus. H’s efforts were assisted by two men who were also passengers on the TransJ bus.
“Finally the person got off at the South Swamp Bus Stop. I immediately pulled his body to menu this person,” he said.
“With my energy and body which is sufficient to do this, I detained this person until the two men (orange and black shirts) restrained the person from escaping,” he added.
The suspected perpetrator tried to escape by jumping from the bus stop. The man had fallen twice after jumping from the TransJ stop.
