Less than 30 minutes ago

Due to track work on Sunday 29 October, the Bybanen will not run past the stops at Danmarks plass, Florida and Nygård.

Line 1 between Bergen city center and Bergen Airport, which usually stops at the stops mentioned above, instead runs the same route as line 2 between Kronstad and the bus station.

– It is the first time we are using line 2’s track to run line 1, says press contact Karoline Rage in Skyss.

Briefly summarized:

The work starts on Sunday morning. If the work is finished before the end of the day, line 1 will follow the normal route again. At the bus station, it is not the usual covered stop that is in use, but the line 2 stop closer to Ado and the goods terminal. There are also alternative platforms at Kronstad, marked F (towards Flesland) and E (towards the centre). Line 2 runs as normal.

Wondering about something more? Below you will find everything you need to know.

Bybanen’s line 1 runs here

From Flesland to Brann Stadion, line 1 runs as normal. At Kronstad, just before the stop, line 1 turns off to the right.

Skyss uses the “extra track” at Kronstad, with associated platforms marked F and E. It takes one minute to go from the regular line 1 stop at Kronstad to the two alternative platforms, according to Skyss.

The video below shows how to get from the closed platform to line 1 at Kronstad – to the temporary one that applies throughout Sunday.

From there, the track runs via Haukeland hospital and Fløen.

– No extra bus has been put in, says Rage.

Below are alternative ways to get from the closed light rail stops to wherever you want.

To/from Nygård

If you usually get on and off the Bybanen at Nygård, Skyss recommends the following:

Towards Flesland: From the stop closest to Søtt & Salt and Bunnpris, bus number 12 Lægdene/Montana goes every half hour to Haukeland hospital, where Bybanen’s line 1 continues to the airport from platform C. Towards the centre, Florida and Danmarks plass: Are you used to the line runs “all the time” and you don’t need to check the timetables? Then it pays to get your feet wet if you’re going to one of these places. From the bus station. which is approximately five minutes away, both bus and train go to the whole of Bergen. To Kronstad: If you don’t want to wait for the bus, it takes 28 minutes to walk to the light rail stop there.

To/from Florida

With the light rail stop at Florida as a starting point, Skyss proposes these options:

Towards Flesland: From the stop closest to the silver-grey building with blue windows, bus number 12 Lægdene/Montana goes every half hour to Haukeland hospital. There you can take the Bybanen line to the airport from platform C. To Danmarks plass or Kronstad: To the former it takes just over ten minutes to walk, while to Kronstad it takes 23 minutes. If a city bike is an option, it costs NOK 39 for a single trip. There is a bicycle station right next to the light rail stop at Florida. Towards the centre: It takes 12 minutes to walk to the bus station, or bus number 12 Lønborg goes via the centre.

Denmark’s place

In the Danmarks plass area there are several bus stops and thus several bus route options. Here it is important to keep your tongue in your mouth and go to the right bus stop if you are not familiar with the area.

Skyss suggests the following – or that travelers use the journey planner to find others travel alternative:

The Bybanen towards Flesland: To get on the Bybanen towards the airport, you can take line 20 Haukeland/Nesttun from the bus stop closest to the small football field at Krohnsminde to Haukeland hospital. Another option is to go to the light rail stop at Kronstad, which takes just under fifteen minutes. Towards the city centre: Either the same as the point above, but take the Bybanen towards the city center from Haukeland hospital. Or take one of the following buses to the bus station: Lines 51, 67, 83 and 600. All buses are marked “Bergen bus station” and all leave from the bus stop at E39 Fjøsangerveien by the charging stations. Published:
