Earlier in the afternoon, Le Mans and Orleans unveiled a joint statement in which the two presidents highlighted three key points in order to get a Ligue 2 to 22 clubs. A few minutes later, Christophe Chareyre, the general manager of the Gazelec d’Ajaccio, returned to this statement, via a Tweet, explaining that the GFCA joins the two teams in their approach from a Ligue 2 to 22 clubs. For Chareyre, whose club finished in the penultimate place of National 1 and could therefore go down to National 2 next season, it is important to save the economy of football clubs and the proposal to move to Ligue 2 to 22 clubs is therefore an approach to which the GFCA joins. As a reminder, the Gazelec could lose its status as a professional club in the event of relegation to National 2.
