CASE CÉSAR EL ABUSADOR – Marisol Franco will remain in prison after court declaring mandatory review coercive measure

Marisol Franco, sentimental couple of the alleged drug trafficker César Emilio Peralta (the Abuser), imprisoned in a Colombian prison, for extradition purposes to the United States, must continue to be held in the Najayo-Mujeres jail.

The Fourth Court of the National District Instruction declared the mandatory review of the measure of coercion that was imposed on the defendant void, so it must continue to hold preventive detention.

The court decided not to know the mandatory review of Marisol Franco, claiming that it cannot, since the Second Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of the National District, last December ratified the preventive detention issued against it.

The defense of the defendant, headed by the lawyer Joaquín Benezario said they will file a request for review of the measure of coercion, which seeks to revoke the preventive detention issued against him.

The Public Prosecutor’s investigation against the defendant establishes that it acquired movable and immovable property that exceeds RD $ 25 million and that includes an apartment in the Kevany tower, valued at RD $ 16 million and a vehicle of the Mercedes Benz model S -500, valued at approximately US $ 120 thousand, as well as an 18-carat Hublot watch, valued at RD $ 750 thousand, among other luxury items.

Marisol Franco has been appointed by the Public Ministry along with 15 other people, all with different measures of coercion, as a member of a criminal network that was dedicated to money laundering proceeds of drug trafficking, directed by César el Abusador.
