In Kiev, Schem journalists were attacked at the state-owned Ukreximbank while recording an interview. The police started criminal proceedings.
This was reported in press service Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Details of the attack
Schem journalists recorded an interview with Ukreximbank Chairman of the Board Yevgeny Metzger. Then he didn’t like one of the questions and ordered the guards “remove the cameras” and “get the cassettes out of them.”
According to journalists, bank employees used force on the operator, took away two cameras and cards with recording.
In addition, the journalists were prohibited from filming everything on the phone, and they were also asked to leave the premises. An hour later, “Schemes” had their equipment returned, but the interviews and video of the attack were removed.

What the police say
On the fact of obstruction of the professional activities of journalists, law enforcement officers began criminal proceedings. Now the police are carrying out the necessary investigative actions for the pre-trial investigation.
It is noted that the police began criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 171 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists.
