The Montreal police force reminded the population on Saturday to be vigilant and to keep their eyes open to help them get their hands on the “important witness possibly involved in two homicides” that occurred Thursday in the metropolis.

“We are trying to locate the individual who is of great interest to investigators,” says agent Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). We think he might be dangerous. “
Claude Charbonneau, 61, is actively wanted by the police in connection with the murders of two men that took place in the neighborhoods of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and Ahuntsic-Cartierville, in Montreal.
The individual has gray hair and blue eyes. He is 1.62 m (5’3 ”) tall and weighs 57 kg (125 lbs). He wears various tattoos on his body, including his initials on his arms and forearms, notes the SPVM.
He could be traveling in a gray Dodge Caravan van dating from 2006 and registered N85 RQY, although investigators have reason to believe that he altered or changed his plate number.

“We must mention to citizens never to come into contact with him, to communicate directly with 911. The fact remains that he is an important witness in a double homicide”, adds agent Benoît Boisselle, also spokesperson for the SPVM.
On Thursday morning, Theodoros Lakis Debeyiostis, 80, was found seriously injured in the corridor of a housing block on Benny Street, belonging to members of his family.
The neighborhood beloved octogenarian was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
This first event led the police to make checks in a second building also belonging to the Debeyiostis family, this time located on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa Est, where the body of Pierre Phaneuf, 68, was found.
According to our information, the victim bore marks of violence on the head.
His death was pronounced on the spot.
