The semi-finals of the National Cup, the first matches played since March, were played this Saturday in South Africa.

African country most affected by the coronavirus pandemic, with 545,476 cases including 9,909 deaths according to the latest official report, South Africa however saw competitive football resume this Saturday. After 145 days of inactivity, the semi-finals of the National Cup took place in an Orlando Stadium in Soweto behind closed doors.

They saw Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns dominate Baroka (3-0) and Budvests Wits (3-2) respectively. The two clubs will face each other on September 8 in the final. As for the Championship, it must resume on Tuesday.
