Burglary at Spanish Winery: Expensive Wine Barrels Stolen

The incident happened last night at the Cepa21 company in the northwest of Spain, writes the British broadcaster BBC. The company works with several types of wine. The barrels opened by the burglar were of two of the most expensive types, namely Horcajo and Malabrigo.

The police is investigating the case. The camera footage below shows a person wearing a hood walking into the room.

A representative of the Spanish company tells the broadcaster that it is noticeable in the images how the man moves fairly quickly while the room is dark. He also gets the barrels open quite easily, while this should be a lot more difficult for someone unfamiliar with the space.

“I don’t know whether that indicates that it is an employee or former employee. We do not suspect any employee at the moment. But this person seemed to be able to handle these types of machines.”

Tens of euros

A bottle of Horcajo easily costs around 90 euros in the Netherlands. Malabrigo sells for around 35 euros in the Netherlands.
