Peter Bosz is disappointed with the loss of Champions League football. Bayer Leverkusen got 63 points this season, but that is not enough.
Leverkusen lost to Hertha BSC last week and that defeat proved crucial in the battle for fourth place. The victory over FSV Mainz was not enough. “It is a bit strange that you have to be disappointed because we got 63 points, it is not enough for the Champions League,” said Bosz afterwards. Last year Leverkusen did reach the Champions League. “We now have five points more than last year. But I would like to congratulate Gladbach.”
“It was difficult today and the grass was very dry. That made it difficult for the players. We scored early, but did not score the second and third goals. We lacked luck,” Bosz analyzes.
Bosz will play in the Europa League group stage next season.
