In practice, he explained that it will be a question of defining a strategy which will consist in setting up a project team. This will take stock of the supply of blood in the various public and private health structures in the country. Then write a project with several components that will lead to a platform that goes from the donor to the distribution.

The director of the CNTS, Dr Konaté Séidou, welcomed the partnership which, according to him, will help his center to fill this annual deficit of 100,000 bags of blood. “We have an annual need for 250,000 bags of blood. Yet we are at 160,000 pockets. This deficit of 100,000 must be filled for the happiness of the populations. This agreement is therefore timely to help the center meet its needs, ”he said.
The general mission of the CNTS is to organize blood transfusion, establish the quality assurance system, ensure quality control and ensure the safety of blood products and their derivatives.
The age for donating blood varies between 18 and 60 years. Family donation, replacement donation, paid donation and voluntary donation are the four main systems of donation. Côte d’Ivoire has adopted the voluntary system, a sign of solidarity.
Blood is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. It has a lifespan of between 4 and 42 days.
