The Bolivarian mayor of Maracaibo, Willy Casanova, reported this Sunday that the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19 has sent more than 270 doctors made up of various Brigades, made up of Cuban Military Doctors who join the more than two thousand that were already in the entity; they are dedicated to screening and searching for patients with Covid-19.
In a telephone contact with the 30 Minutes segment in La Noticia broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the state president stated that the Municipal Market of Las Pulgas has been closed for two months, like other groups in the city’s markets. from Maracaibo, due to the chain of infections that has been unleashed in the Zulia state.
He pointed out that the Covid-19 outbreak remains active in the Municipal Market of Las Pulgas, for which the entire state of Zulia is in strict and radical quarantine.
Likewise, he highlighted that 65 sectors of the city where the virus is moving with greater force have been identified, and also added that they have 37 Peace Quadrants that work in strict compliance with the radicalized quarantine.
The city of Maracaibo has 16 Hospital Hotels, where medical care and all prevention and biosecurity measures are guaranteed to all patients with Covid-19, said the Mayor.
Likewise, it announced the repair in its entirety of the 25 Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and that they are ready to accompany this battle for life that is being waged in Maracaibo.
The state president detailed that they have 38 capacities of Intensive Care Units and more than 90 Intermediate Care that they have in the CDI, ready to serve the population before Covid-19.
He reaffirmed that the days of disinfection, cleaning and beautification are constantly maintained throughout the entity, in addition to all the deployment of officials from different police and military security forces throughout the state, who have arranged to reduce forcefully internal mobility .
He noted that the city of Maracaibo is the most populous in Venezuela, close to Colombia and has an important commercial activity with that country and, from that mobility, the outbreak of Covid-19 was generated in the Municipal Market of Las Pulgas.
Finally, he reported that Governor Omar Prieto, despite his contagion with Coronavirus, is pending everything that is happening in the state of Zulia, driving and commanding.
