Youtuber NikkieTutorials calls on everyone to stop the witch hunt for the man who blackmailed her. In her first video after her coming out, she says that she knows who it is, but that she is not making his name public.
More than two weeks ago, NikkieTutorials, which is called Nikkie de Jager in real life, announced that she is transgender. Her coming out became news all over the world and the video has been viewed more than 33 million times. She made the video because she was blackmailed by someone who threatened to leak her story to the media.

Videos of people who think they know who put her under pressure appeared on YouTube. “I ask you to stop that. It is my right to decide whether the name comes out,” says De Jager.
Thanks to the police, she knows who was responsible for the threats. “I know his name, phone number, email address and even where he lives. When I heard who’s behind this, I was in shock. It’s not someone you know,” she tells her followers. “It’s someone I don’t even know personally.”
