An ultimate provocation? An act of revenge? A gesture of despair? The discovery on Tuesday of a bear killed by bullets near the Guzet-Neige station, in Ariège, caused dismay, dismay, but not a total surprise in a region where farmers face attacks by herds and have several once threatened to use the strong way. This news item is a first in France since the reintroduction of Slovenian individuals in the Pyrenees during the 1990s.
