Left back Juan Miranda (20 years old), trained at FC Barcelona and loaned to Schalke 04 for two seasons in 2019, will not be the second in Germany, to return to the Catalan club in the coming days, Barça announced Wednesday.

“FC Barcelona and Schalke 04 have reached an agreement not to make effective the second season of loan from player Juan Miranda, who will return to the Barça discipline in the coming days,” Barça said in a statement.
The young Andalusian defender, born in Olivares, near Seville, had been loaned out last August 30 for two seasons.

Miranda played eleven matches in the Bundesliga, nine of them as a starter (781 minutes total).
Before his transfer, he had played a full Champions League match (against Tottenham in December 2018, 1-1) and three of the Copa del Rey with the Barça first team, during the 2018-2019 season.

Miranda’s return could be showing the exit door to left-back Junior Firpo. The exBetis has not given up in its entirety and his name has been mentioned a lot in the transfer market.

One of its possible destinations may be Inter Milan, which is in need of a lane in Firpo’s position, and can also enter Barcelona as part of Lautaro Martínez’s operation.
