Paris – Some 150 Moroccans stranded in France following the closure of air, land and sea borders due to the pandemic of the new Coronavirus, were repatriated on Wednesday from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris to Marrakech.

This humanitarian operation, ensured by a Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flight, comes after a series of repatriations made last week.

It has particularly benefited citizens holding short-stay visas in vulnerable situations, in particular sick, elderly or people who have undergone surgical operations.

Organized by the Consulates General of Morocco in the Ile de France in collaboration with the French authorities, this operation took place in a climate of serenity and with total respect for the precautionary measures and the health protocols in force.

The first phase of the repatriation operation of Moroccans stranded in France began on June 22 with hundreds of people from several cities in France, including Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Bordeaux.

Thirty flights were scheduled between June 21 and 27 for the repatriation of 4,644 Moroccans stranded in 17 countries, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
