Within a maximum period of five days -counting from this Tuesday, March 30, 2021- zone 6 of the Ministry of Public health (MSP) must submit to the Ombudsman’s Office the complete information of the people who were immunized in phase zero of the vaccination against him covid-19, in the province of Azuay.
This decision corresponds to a ruling issued by the Family, Women, Childhood and Adolescence judge, Paul Serrano Vallejo, for him resource Constitutional Guarantee of Access to Public Information filed by the Ombudsman’s Office, Wednesday, March 24.
This Tuesday the 30th the hearing was held with the participation of the parties involved. There the judge also ordered the SMEs to publish, on its website, the resolution of the fault and that the process be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate an alleged mismanagement of the vaccines against him coronavirus.
Before that -on January 25, 2021- the same Ombudsman requested the detailed registry of the people who were vaccinated to the coordinator of zone 6, Julio Molina. “They gave us a list of five pages with mutilated information,” said the head Verónica Aguirre.
For example, you mentioned that there were people with only one Name and last name, incomplete ID numbers, the position, place of work and if it corresponds to the front-line personnel working within this health emergency.
The Judge’s ruling can be appealed. However, Aguirre says that when it comes to the infringement of the Fundamental rights of people (health and life) is of strict and immediate compliance. “The appeal does not stay his execution.”
Aguirre explained that if the SMEs does not comply with the sentence, the case will go to Prosecutor’s office for a criminal process against the highest authorities of this portfolio of State. The Ombudsman’s Office is also requesting that zone 6 present the schedule of the current vaccination campaign.
