COVID-19: batch of more than 2.3 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine arrived in Peru

Peru received tonight a batch of 2 387 600 doses of COVID-19 vaccines of the chinese laboratory Sinopharm and that it will serve to accelerate the vaccination of the Peruvian population.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) indicated that this batch is part of the eight million doses purchased directly by the Peruvian Government.

From the Jorge Chávez International Airport, officials from the portfolio he leads Hernando Cevallos supervised the arrival of this new shipment, which will be distributed as soon as possible to all regions of Peru.

On the other hand, the Minsa reported that To date, at the national level, there are 200,019 deaths and 2,195,101 accumulated cases of new coronavirus.

The portfolio indicated that there are currently 3,292 patients hospitalized for the COVID-19, of which 842 are in the ICU with mechanical ventilation.

Of the total confirmed cases, 2,173,324 people completed their period of home isolation or were discharged from a health facility.

In order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, the Government recommends physical distancing of at least one meter from another person, wearing a mask, washing hands frequently and wearing face shields in public transport.
