Australian Government Delivers 490,600 Doses of Pentavalent Vaccine to Vietnam: VNA News

Hanoi (VNA) – The Australian Government decided to deliver in Hanoi 490,600 doses of the “5 in 1” vaccine (against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B and pneumonia/meningitis caused by the Hib bacteria) to Vietnam through of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

According to the plan, the mentioned batch will arrive in Vietnam tonight. At the symbolic handover ceremony the day before, Vietnamese Health Minister Dao Hong Lan thanked international organizations, especially the Australian government, for their timely assistance.

He stressed that the vials of the pentavalent vaccine will be used in the National Immunization Program for children in the coming years and will be supplied to the localities as soon as possible.

In turn, the deputy director of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Duong Thi Hong, said that the center has developed a plan for the allocation of vaccines according to the needs of localities, giving priority to mountainous and disadvantaged areas./ .
