[헤럴드경제=민성기 기자] Aston Villa FC of the English Premier League (EPL) have delivered their first recruitment offer for Lee Kang-in to Mallorca in the transfer market this winter.
Court Offside, a British media outlet, said on the 11th (Korean time): “Mallorca was expecting an offer of more than 15 million euros (about 20.1 billion won) for Lee Kang-in’s transfer fee, but Aston Villa have offered 13.5 million euros (about 18.1 billion won) for Lee Kang-in’s transfer fee.”
The cutoffside noted: “Lee Kang-in, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, has caught the attention of manager Unai Emery, and the new Aston Villa manager is ready to sign him.”
Regarding the cut side, “Aston Villa are not the only Premier League club considering the signing of Lee Kang-in. Newcastle also intend to offer up to 17 million euros (about 22.8 billion won) to recruit Lee Kang-in. Lee Kang-in can play not only as a winger but also as an attacking midfielder, and he could be a good signing for managers Emery and Eddie Howe,” Newcastle’s interest explained.
Newcastle are third in the Premier League this season and there is a high chance of progressing to the UEFA Champions League next season, so it could be a better chance for Lee Kang-in.
Furthermore, Newcastle are showing excellent financial strength after Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund took over, so there’s a good chance they won’t be rejected when competing with Aston Villa for transfer fees.
Lee Kang-in plays a key role in Mallorca in the 2022/23 season and also plays an important role in the team’s performance.
