Vitor Roque’s transfer to Barcelona: Training schedule, official presentation date, and negotiation details

Striker Vitor Roque enjoys the last few days of vacation before embarking to present himself to the Barcelona. He will spend Christmas with his family in Brazil and travel on Tuesday, the 26th, to Spain.

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Vitor Roque’s first training session with coach Xavi at Barcelona should take place on the 29th, Friday, when the team begins preparing to face Las Palmas, on January 4th. On the 30th, a training session open to Barcelona fans is planned.

The official presentation, according to the newspaper, should only take place on January 3rd. The day before, Vitor Roque must participate with the squad in a visit to Barcelona hospitals, which is a club tradition.

Vitor Roque gave an interview to Mundo Deportivo and spoke about the agreement with Barcelona and the expectation of defending the club. He timidly ventured a few words in Spanish, with the expression “Visca (Viva) Barça, visca Catalunya”, one of the team’s mottos.

In the agreement, Athletico and Barcelona defined that Vitor Roque would initially stay in Brazil until mid-2024. After that, Furacão agreed to release the player to report to the Catalan club six months in advance – that is, now in January.

Barcelona were able to count on Vitor Roque in advance due to the relaxation of financial fair play in La Liga and due to the injury suffered by Gavi. The Spanish club receiving the green light to take advantage of 80% of Gavi’s salary record when registering another player for the 2023/24 season.
