Apart from the iPhone, this Android Smartphone can no longer use WhatsApp

JawaPos.com – Some types of iPhone devices will no longer be able to use the WhatsApp application starting November 1, 2021. Not only the iPhone, it turns out that some Android devices will no longer be able to use the popular instant messaging application in the coming weeks.

For iPhone devices, WhatsApp can no longer be operated on older operating systems or OS such as iOS 10 and below. As for Android, it is stated that WhatsApp will no longer be able to be used on Android OS 4.1 and below as well as KaiOS 2.5.1 and below.

Those who still want to use WhatsApp on their old smartphone devices seem to have to upgrade their operating system to a more recent one. Or, instead buy a smartphone with the latest operating system.

However, for those who still want to keep their old gadgets, they can find out the version of the operating system used on their cellphones by going to the “Settings” menu then selecting the “About Mobile” menu and seeing what operating system is currently being used.

Smartphones that are still using the old OS will not be able to verify existing accounts or cannot enter the WhatsApp application. The phone also can’t create a new account.

“Starting November 1, 2021, WhatsApp will no longer support phones running OS 4.0.4 and earlier. Please change to a supported device or save your chat history before that date,” WhatsApp wrote in its official release.
