Amazing Sunrise from the West, Here’s NASA’s Explanation

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Uploads on Facebook some time ago regarding the news of the sun rising from the west had caused a stir. Reportedly things are getting the Earth closer to the apocalypse.

The post, which was shared in Thai and English, explains that the United States space agency, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), is said to have announced the possibility of the sun rising from the west due to the Earth rotating in the opposite direction.

“Earth will rotate in the opposite direction causing the sun to emerge from the west side. Researchers believe that we are moving towards a magnetic field reversal that will mark the end of humanity and near the end of the apocalypse,” wrote the post on Facebook.

However, it turned out that NASA denied the upload was a statement from the United States space agency. NASA’s Associate Administrator for Communications Bettina Inclan said neither her agency nor other organizations had predicted this.

“Neither NASA nor any other scientific organization predicts the sun will rise from the west,” said Bettina, quoted Tuesday (3/4/2022).

According to Bettina, the phenomenon of magnetic reversal is real and has happened. Scientists are also said to be studying this magnetic reversal.

However, he stressed that the magnetic reversal does not make the Earth rotate in the opposite direction and change the direction of the sun’s appearance.

“The magnetic field reversal is indeed a real phenomenon that has occurred several times in the past and scientists around the world are studying it, but the statement that this causes the Earth to rotate in the opposite direction which causes the sun to rise from the west is wrong,” he explained.

The phenomenon of the sun rising from the West actually occurs on Venus. The planet rotates on its axis backwards.

For information, the rotation of the planet is also quite long, namely 243 days. While Venus revolves around the sun for 225 Earth days. With this time, the sun is only present twice in one year, i.e. it rises per 117 Earth days on Venus.
