The flow of the Russian population to Georgia has increased almost five times, to Armenia – three times, according to information published on the official statistics portal.

134,000 Russians left for Armenia in the first quarter. 78,000 have indicated that the purpose of the trip is private, 41,000 – that it is tourism.

During the same period last year, only 44,000 Russians had gone to Armenia.

38,000 Russians have fled to Georgia via the only land border crossing point in Verkhny Lars, North Ossetia. In the first quarter of last year, only 8,000 Russian citizens crossed the border.

There has also been a significant increase in the number of Russians going to Uzbekistan (53,000 in the first three months of this year, 15,000 a year ago), Tajikistan (40,000 and 8,000) and Azerbaijan (56,000 and 20,000).
