In Rosario on November 4, victim of the disease that plagues the world, the justicialist politician Alberto Baigorri died.
He himself had been born in the home of Santiago Baigorri and Estela Elsa Smart, in Rosario on January 14, 1948. By his paternal family he was united to our city since the beginning of the 19th century, the Baigorri family, Carasa, Remondino were part of his family group, where there were lawyers, notaries and journalists.
He completed his primary cycle at School No. 69 Gabriel Carrasco in the Alberdi neighborhood, the secondary cycle at National School No. 2 General José de San Martín de Rosario, receiving a National Bachelor’s degree. In 1975 he graduated as a lawyer from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the National University of Rosario. While studying, in 1975, he began to work in San Lorenzo and Rosario, where he continued after graduating.
In 1977 he settled in San Lorenzo. He had begun to participate in politics within the justicialismo in 1972 with the partisan youth in the Alberdi section. Since 1983 he has been a member of the internal group Luder, in reference to the candidate for President of the Nation Dr. Italo Luder. In the elections of November 3, 1985, for the Justicialist Liberation Front (FREJULI), he headed the list of candidates for Municipal Councilor, being accompanied in second place by the recently deceased Edmundo Conforti, where he was elected until 1989, returning to the same position in the period 1993 – 1997. Member of the Municipal Legal Advisory Office since January 1, 1985 during the Municipal Administration of Hugo Salvador Rippa. He was secretary of Government and Municipal Culture (1989 – 1991, 2003 – 2005) during the municipal governments of Rubén Teves and Mónica de la Quintana. Candidate for municipal councilor in the elections of September 7, 2003 for the motto: Partido Justicialista, sub-motto: Battle of San Lorenzo, accompanying the candidate for mayor Guillermo Cittadini.
He took several courses on his specialization, including the following: On labor law; Municipal administration; Social Security; Environmental pollution; civil law; procedural law. He was a member of the Club Atlético Argentino and its legal advisor (1984 – 1985), Legal advisor to the Union of merchants and industrialists of the San Lorenzo department. He was honored along with his peers Municipal Councilors on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the local legislative body in 2018. He was a kind person, slow-talking, low-key, who crossed with neighbors and conversed amicably, while taking his pets for a walk. He did not stay out of the need of the people and, quietly, he was a local Caritas volunteer contributing what could be useful to the people.
He was the one who encouraged and helped the current municipal government secretary Dr. Alejandro Cabral to enter the political arena. His time in local politics will not be forgotten, receiving the homage of his current peers in the local legislature and citizens who treated and knew him.
