The bid for the Administrative Directorate of the House of Representatives has unleashed a whole controversial storm. And is not for less, this position manages an annual budget of 400 billion pesos, destined to the payment of payrolls of the congressmen, administrative charges, air tickets, among others.

As part of the agreements reached by the benches of the different parties, it was agreed that the Administrative Directorate of the Chamber corresponds to the U Party.
Before the retirement of the current administrative director, Carolina Carrillo, it was expected that this position will be in the hands of her right hand, Laura Dallos, who has significant ancestry within the Valle de la bancada sector.
However, in recent days the picture began to complicate for Dallos, to the point that ‘The U’ opened a public call to receive resumes, in order to select the candidate to occupy this position, which in any case must be chosen by the Plenary of the Chamber.

According to this newspaper, a total of 15 people signed up for the call, including controversial names.
Among them is that of the former mayor of Girón (Santander) Jhon Abuid Ramírez, a candidate burned in the last elections for the department’s governor.
In 2017, under his mandate in this Santander municipality, works began on the Gabriel García Márquez Library, located in the Ciudadela Nuevo Girón neighborhood, with the aim of creating a learning and cultural space for the inhabitants of the municipality. A year later, October 2018, with an investment of more than 2,500 million pesos, the place opened its doors.
However, the children were surprised: the library did not have a single book. The place remained without reference texts for more than a year, until it was finally transferred by agreement to SENA to dictate training programs in science and nanotechnology.

In the Attorney General’s Office, Ramírez has several disciplinary investigations for the actions when he was mayor of that municipality of Santander for alleged irregularities that could have led to possible illicit enrichment. However, the Attorney General’s Office has so far not issued a ruling against him.
Along with Ramírez, the other strong candidate is Laura Dallos, who not only has strength within ‘the U’, but is the right hand of the current administrative director, Carolina Carrillo.
As it became known, some of the certificates presented by Laura Dallos to support her work experience to occupy the position were signed by her own husband, who credited her with working time in her personal company Agropetrol.
Among those registered there are also other known names. One of them is that of former congressman Didier Burgos, who was until just two years ago seated in the National Capitol.
Carolina Carrillo, who is the current administrative director, has already confirmed that she will not run for the position again, as she will be awaiting her pre-candidacy for the Ombudsman’s Office.
