Meal vouchers: before covid 13 million tickets spent by 3 million workers every day
Before the outbreak of the pandemic, around 10 million workers ate lunch outside the home daily. Of these, about 3 million benefited from meal vouchers and 64.7% used them as their first form of payment, every time they left their workplace. In total, every day public and private employees spend 13 million meal vouchers in bars, restaurants, supermarkets and all affiliated businesses. The situation was taken up by the representatives of six catering and food organizations in a press conference: Alessandro Beretta general secretary Ancd Conad, Marco Pedroni president of Coop Italia and ancc Coop, Giancarlo Banchieri, president of Fiepet Confesercenti, Alberto Frausin, president Federdistribuzione, Donatella Prampolini president of Fida and Lino Enrico Stoppani president of Fipe-Confcommercio.
