Actress Darija Pavlovičová Wins StarDance 2023 with Dancer Dominik Vodička in Prague

Prague – The twelfth season of the dance competition StarDance …when the stars dance was won by actress Darija Pavlovičová and professional dancer Dominik Vodička. In the final evening, they performed samba, waltz and freestyle. Snowboarder Eva Adamczyková finished second with dancer Jakub Mazůch, and third place belongs to kayaker Vavřinc Hradilk, who formed a pair with dancer Kateřina Bartuněk Hrstková. Czech television broadcast StarDance for the first time in 2006.

When announcing the results, Pavlovičová thanked her dance partner in particular. “It’s been an intense journey that we’ve been through together,” she said.

According to bookmakers, Adamczyková was the favorite. By Friday morning, approximately three-quarters of all bets were on her victory, while approximately one-eighth were on Pavlovičová. Around five percent of the bettors guessed that Hradílek would win. This year, the participants of the previous series also guessed the winner, according to them, Adamczyková would also win.

This year’s series of the competition, which always features ten dance couples in a combination of a well-known personality and a professional, began on October 14. A married couple also appeared in the competition, Adamczyková’s husband actor Marek Adamczyk also danced, his partner was dancer Lenka Nora Návorková.

The performance of the couples is scored by the jury, and the audience sends SMS votes to the dancers at the same time. This year, actor David Prachař was the first to leave the competition, followed by actress Ivana Chýlková, actor and musician Richard Krajčo, singer Tereza Mašková, actor Marek Adamczyk, baker and confectioner Josef Maršálek, and model and presenter Iva Kubelková.

In the previous series of StarDance in autumn 2021, actor Jan Cina won with professional dancer Adriana Mašková. The parish priest of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church Martina Viktorie Kopecká, who formed a dance couple with Marko Dědík, finished second. Figure skaters Tomáš Verner and Kristýna Coufalová, favored by the bookmakers, took bronze.

While there are always new faces among the celebrities participating in the StarDance competition, the dancers are returning. The celebrity dance competition first appeared on TV screens in Britain, where the BBC introduced it in 2004.
