While the mother, named Maribel Erika, was waiting to receive a medical consultation, a man approached her 7-year-old son and began to gain his trust.
After a few minutes, the individual identified as Victor Manuel, 48, convinced the boy to go with him to the hospital bathrooms.
“Apparently, the child was persuaded with deception by Victor Manuel,” the municipality said in a statement.
“However, the staff of the Clinic noticed in time what happened and broke into the toilet.”
At about 2:00 pm, the man was discovered while abusing the child in the bathroom for people with disabilities, so they called the police.
Ecatepec agents immediately went to the IMSS unit and arrested the alleged abuser, who had tried to escape through the back door of the building.
The man was handcuffed by municipal police officers assigned to the surveillance of Quadrant 35, who later took him before the corresponding authorities.
“The detainee was placed at the disposal of the agency specialized in sexual crimes against minors, where he awaits the determination of the Public Ministry agent who will decide his legal situation,” added the Municipality.
