A young woman killed her boyfriend in her apartment in the area of the Saturday market in Plovdiv, hitting him on the head with a heavy object. The man died of a head injury. She later tried to cover up the crime by trying to set the body on fire, 24 Chasa has learned. It failed, but there are traces of burns on the body. In the end, the woman surrendered.
The murder took place on Thursday night, but information about it has not yet been announced by either the police or the prosecutor’s office. The head of the Regional Police Directorate, Senior Commissioner Dimitar Balev, was not available for comment.
After the media reported about the crime, the police announced that proceedings had been instituted in the First Regional Hospital in connection with the death of a 28-year-old man. The signal was received on October 21. The lifeless body of the man was found in an apartment in the Hristo Botev district, and traces of violence were found during an inspection. The scene of the accident has been preserved, the necessary procedural and investigative actions have been taken. A 35-year-old woman was detained in the case. The work of the investigators continues under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Interior informed.
