All New York police officers on patrol will soon be equipped with helmets, city police said on Monday, after recent attacks, including on police officers. The police of the American city released an envelope of 7.5 million dollars.
It should make it possible to acquire additional protective equipment, in particular 20,000 helmets, which will be distributed to the officers responsible for patrolling from the end of the summer.
As part of this new allocation, the deployment of which will be completed in January, 6,000 reinforced bulletproof vests (front and back) will also be placed in the 3,000 vehicles making rounds in New York.

Dallas, Baton Rouge, Kansas City
On July 7, a man in ambush shot at police officers in Dallas and killed five of them before being neutralized. On July 17, a man again targeted police officers in Baton Rouge and shot dead three officers before being killed.
On July 19, a Kansas City police officer lost his life while pursuing a settling of scores.
“Today, more than ever, society is asking its police officers to step in and face serious danger,” commented New York City Police Chief William Bratton.
