Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Phan Van Mai, chairman of the city’s People’s Committee, paid a working visit to NASDAQ in New York.

He expressed his pleasure to visit NASDAQ, the largest and oldest electronic stock exchange in the world. He said Ho Chi Minh City is currently aiming to become an international financial center, with a variety of financial services and the ability to integrate deeply into global markets.

He hoped that NASDAQ experts, with their experience and deep understanding of the US stock market in particular and the international market in general, will support and share the lessons with Ho Chi Minh City. He wished that in the near future, companies in the city could be listed on NASDAQ.

The Ho Chi Minh City delegation then traveled to Los Angeles and had a working session with LAX airport executives to learn and share experiences on infrastructure planning around the airport. LAX ranks 5th in the list of busiest airports in the world and Ho Chi Minh City is the market LAX is currently interested in. LAX is looking to roll out direct flights to Ho Chi Minh City.

LAX shares are very helpful, helping Ho Chi Minh City learn how to manage and invest in airport development. The city wants to cooperate with LAX in the future, including opening direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Los Angeles, he said.

On July 20 (local time), the delegation continued its activities: working with the deputy mayor of Los Angeles; participate in a round table and a working dinner with American companies; work with Bechtel – the largest construction company in the United States. -VNA
