The disciplinary commission of the Portuguese Football Association announced on Tuesday that it had acquitted referee Manuel Mota, as well as Liga delegates Nuno Pedro and Pedro Oliveira, of the lack of information on the match between B SAD and Benfica, which took place on November 27, 2021.
The game, it should be remembered, was marked by strong controversy, with the blue team playing with only nine players, due to the Covid-19 epidemic. It ended in the 48th minute (with 7-0 for Benfica on the scoreboard), after B SAD exhausted the minimum number (7) of players on the field.
Since the referee, as well as the game delegates, did not write in the report that the indignation had been expressed by the president of the B SAD, Rui Pedro Soares, in the preparatory meeting of the game, for not having 11 players available to compete, the Discipline Board has started an investigation procedure, on which no disciplinary infringement has been proven to date.
