A youtuber with more than two million followers who filmed himself driving at 233 km / h on a highway in Madrid was arrested this Saturday by the Spanish National Police. The maximum speed allowed on the site is 80 km / h.
The suspect will be, according to the Spanish media, the youtuber vicesat, responsible for a YouTube channel dedicated to the automotive universe. The infringement was committed on the M-45, behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracan, borrowed by one of his followers. The video was published on September 25.
“In his testimony, the owner of the vehicle acknowledged his disagreement with the driver for having shown the car’s registration number on the video and testing the speed at which he could reach it,” the National Police said in a statement.
The complaint came from a citizen who, by e-mail, informed the authorities of the content of the video.
“The images prove that the youtuber drove a high-end vehicle at 233 km / h in a service area on the M-45 road towards Valencia, limited to 80 km / h”, the note reads. This is an infringement against road safety.
As of 5.30 pm on Saturday, the video had been viewed by more than 1.8 million people.
In his Instagram account, vicesat denied, this Saturday afternoon, that he was the youtuber detained by the National Police.
