THE BALL – Wolverhampton returned Trincão and had to pay Barcelona (Barcelona)

Loaned by Barcelona to Wolverhampton at the beginning of last season, Francisco Trincao ended up not convincing Bruno Lage. On Sunday, the English emblem announced the return of the Portuguese international to Camp Nou and with that he is obliged to pay compensation to the blaugrana.

According to BBC, the original deal for the assignment involved a call option that would have to be activated before 30 June. As this did not happen and the player was returned, Wolverhampton had to pay €6 million to Barcelona, an amount that corresponds to the loan deal and that was not paid last July (the objective was to be written off in the definitive transfer).

Formed at SC Braga, Francisco Trincão signed for Barcelona in 2020, after 48 games in the Braga’s first team. With no space in Ronald Koeman’s plans, he was assigned to Wolverhampton, playing 30 matches for the English, in which he scored three goals and provided an assist.
