Military horses cause chaos in central London, England

London. Five military horses escaped this Wednesday during routine exercises near the main residence of King Charles III in London and ran loose through the center of the British capital, injuring at least four people and crashing into vehicles in the middle of rush hour. the morning.

Chaos broke out when the horses, performing an exercise to practice for an important military parade, were alarmed by the noise of construction in a nearby building. Five of the seven horses escaped from the exercise site in Belgravia, an upscale neighborhood west of Buckingham Palace.

Four soldiers were knocked down by the horses, and three of them were taken to hospital with injuries.

The riderless horses galloped through London’s main streets, crashing into vehicles and surprising motorists as they headed to their destinations. The horses were captured shortly afterwards and underwent medical tests.

Images and videos shared on social media showed two of the horses galloping in Aldwych, between London’s historic financial center and the busy West End theater district.

One of the horses was stained with what looked like blood or red paint on the front. The military has not confirmed whether it was blood or what caused the injury.

Megan Morra, who was on her way to work, told the BBC that she saw that one of the horses had a head injury.

“There was a lot of blood,” he noted. “She was a little worried to be honest, seeing the poor horse.”

A frightened horse smashed the window of a taxi waiting near Buckingham Palace, while another crashed into a parked double-decker bus, causing damage to the windscreen.

The horses are from the Household Cavalry, the monarch’s ceremonial guard and a regular feature of state events in London.
