The number of Afghan soldiers on the territory of Tajikistan has increased to almost 1,500 people

The Taliban took full control of six counties in the northeastern Afghan province of Badakhshan.

On the night of July 5, under the onslaught of the Taliban militants (recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia), more than a thousand Afghan soldiers retreated to the territory of Tajikistan. This was reported on Monday by Asia-Plus with reference to the press center of the border troops of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Tajikistan.

It is indicated that on the eve of the Taliban took full control of the counties of Hohon, Shikai, Nusai, Mohimai, Shugnon and Sulton Ishkashim of the northeastern province of Badakhshan in Afghanistan.

“Afghan servicemen crossed the border areas Shohon Sh. Shokhin district (104 people), Ruzvay (213 people) and Nulvand (83 people) Darvaz district, Khumrogi Vanj district (173 people), Tem Khorog district (312), Ishkashim (102 people) ) and Langar (50 people) of the Ishkashim region to the Tajik territory.Currently, the situation in these border areas is under the control of the border guards of the Republic of Tajikistan, – said in the message.

Thus, taking into account those who crossed the border earlier, the number of Afghan soldiers on the territory of Tajikistan increased to almost 1,500 people.

We will remind, in Afghanistan, the situation has worsened after US and NATO partners begin withdrawing troops from this country. It is assumed that it will be completed before September 11 this year.
