Former United States President Donald Trump has announced in the last hours his support for a series of candidates for the legislative elections of 2022 in a gesture aimed at consolidating his leadership over the Republican Party.
This Friday, the tycoon announced his support for the governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster, for the senator from Idaho. Mike Crapo – who are running for reelection – and Arkansas Lt. Governor Tim Griffin, who is running for his state attorney general.
Trump’s messages were characterized by a common message: all his candidates are staunch supporters of conservative, isolationist and traditionalist values, starting with the staunch defense of the possession of firearms in the country.
Trump assured that McMaster “represents a military pillar, for veterans, against crime and in favor of the Second Amendment”, which regulates the possession of firearms. “Crapo is a champion in this sense”, has riveted the former president.
