NEW YORK – Authorities are on the trail of the man suspected of stealing a purse from an elderly woman while the victim was walking in Manhattan on Thanksgiving.
According to the New York Police, the incident occurred on Thursday, November 26, after 1:00 pm, when the 88-year-old woman was walking down 1725 York Avenue and an unknown person approached.
At that moment the suspect snatched the victim’s wallet from her hands, with such force that the woman fell to the ground, the report says. The woman ended up with a fracture to her left shoulder and was treated at Cornell Hospital.
Inside the wallet was about $ 115.
The alleged thief is described as a man in his 20s and 30s.
